Workwear for winter
By admin On October 29th, 2010Wearing the correct work wear is very important, both for your comfort and for your health and safety. Many firms provide a uniform which makes it easier for the individual as they are already supplied and paid for by the firm. For most office based jobs though, a uniform is not provided, although guidelines may be produced by the company as to what is acceptable.
Wearing the correct footwear in any job is essential, especially if you are on your feet for a lot of the time. Poor fitting footwear can result in all sorts of problems such as blisters and bunions which can be very painful. If your company provides protective footwear such as steel cap shoes or boots then it is essential that you wear them as they are there for your safety.
Any safety work wear such as goggles, high visibility clothing, protective gloves or flame retardant jackets that are provided for you must be worn, but for less dangerous jobs it is your responsibility to make sure you dress accordingly.
For office based jobs, men are usually required to wear a shirt, tie and smart trousers, but for women, there is more scope. If you are on a budget, then keep your work wardrobe simple by using staple neutral coloured items such as a skirt, a pair of trousers, a few different coloured tops, a jacket and a cardigan. These items can be mixed and matched to create a variety of looks and by using simple accessories such as belts and simple jewellery, your work wear does not need to be expensive but can look just as effective. It is worth looking in the sales for simple items that will not date and this way you can afford quality items at a fraction of the cost.
